The DX8788 Steiner tunnel horizontal flame spread and smoke density test chamber measures surface burning characteristics of plenum-rated (CMP) communication cables. Specimens are tested inside a 7.6 m horizontal tunnel under controlled airflow while flame spread and smoke density are recorded, giving cable manufacturers data for ASTM E84, UL 910 and NFPA 262 compliance.
