Under the influence of moisture and impurities in electrical products, between different polarity live parts or between live parts and grounded metal may cause leakage on the insulation. The generated arc will cause electrical short circuit or discharge due to electrical discharge. The material is electrically corroded and even ignites causing a fire.
Leakage tracking test is a destructive test that simulates the above situation on insulating materials. The test is on the surface of the solid insulating material, applying a certain voltage between the specified inch (2mm × 5mm) platinum electrodes, and regularly (30s) to set the height (35mm) to drop the contaminated liquid of the specified droplet volume (0.1% NH 4) CL), to evaluate the resistance of the surface of the solid insulating material under the combined action of the electric field and the contaminated medium, and to compare the CT 1 and the PT 1.

The applied voltage is adjustable between 100-600V (48-60Hz). When the short-circuit current is 1.0±0.1A, the voltage drop should not exceed 10%. When the short-circuit leakage current is equal to or greater than 0.5A in the test circuit, the time is maintained. In 2 seconds, the relay operates to cut off the current and indicate that the test sample is not qualified.
The time constant of the drip device can be adjusted, accurately controlling the drip volume of 44 to 50 drops/cm3 and the drip time interval of 30±5 seconds.
