ASTM C411-82 Thermal Insulation the Maximum Service Temperature Testing Equipment
Description:
The test method refers primarily to high-temperature insulations that applicable to hot-side temperatures in excess of 66℃. It is used for materials such as preformed insulations, insulating cements, blankets, and the like, by proper laboratory preparation of the samples.
Standards:
ASTM C411-82:Standard Test Method for Hot-Surface Performance of High-Temperature Thermal Insulation
ISO 8142 :1990:Thermal insulation- Bonded preformed manmade mineral fibre pipe sections-Specification
GB/T17430-2015:Estimating the maximum service temperature of thermal insulation
Technical parameters:
Heating plate:
- Made of SUS304 stainless steel, with test area of 900*450mm;
- The heating plate shall consist of a corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant plate with preferred exposed test area of 94 by 457mm, but having a minimum test area of 457 by 457mm;
- The surface temperature of the plate shall be measured by not less than five thermocouples. Four of the thermocouples shall be located along the diagonals that extend from the corners of the exposed area of the plate and a distance of 6 in, (152mm) in from each corner. A fifth thermocouple shall be located near the center of the test plate area. The temperature at no point of measurement shall vary more than ±5% or ±14℃, whichever is less,from the desired temperature.
Heating pipe:
- Consist of a corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant pipe having a length of not less than 0.9m and preferably of 1.98m. The nominal diameter of the pipe shall preferably be 76mm;
- The surface temperature of the pipe shall be measured by means of thermocouples, not less than on for each 0.3m of length of the test specimen, and located spirally around the pipe at 90º. The test portion of the pipe shall be that area under a full length of a pipe insulation undergoing test. The temperature at any point of measurement on the test portion shall not vary more than ±5% or ±14℃, whichever is less,from the desired temperature;
Temperature measurement system | Thermocouple wire diameter is 5.0mm |
Measuring temperature | 0-500, 0-900, 0-1250 ºC (optional).Adopt PLC+ module to collect temperature. |
Control part | PLC module is adopted and microcomputer is used to control real-time display of thermal surface temperature curve and output report. |
The heating rate | 5 ºC / min or 3 ºC / min can be set. |
Temperature collection | it is collected every 2min and displayed by curve. |
Response time of thermocouple | <0.5s |
Temperature error | ± 0.5 ºC |
Timing error | 1s/h |
Flat ruler and feeler | measure warp |
