GB/T 31248-2014 is the core testing standard for the combustion safety of wires and cables. Its heat release combustion test is a necessary means to quantitatively evaluate the fire hazard of cables, support grading and engineering selection, and ensure the safety of personnel and facilities.

GB/T 31248-2014 "Test Methods for Flame Spread, Heat Release, and Smoke Production Characteristics of Cables or Optical Cables under Fire Conditions" is a supporting test method for GB 31247-2014 "Classification of Combustion Performance of Cables and Optical Cables", used to scientifically evaluate the A/B1/B2/B3 level combustion performance of cables.
